How do I know if moisture testing is required?
Moisture testing is required on almost every project where resilient flooring will be used. Independent, third-party testing can help determine the proper preparation of the concrete slab, helping to eliminate future flooring problems. Concrete slab moisture testing is also required by the flooring manufacturers for warranty purposes.
How do I know when my project is ready to be tested for moisture?
Your project is ready to be tested once the space is fully enclosed and has been acclimated for 48 hours at service conditions. ASTM standards require the following ranges be maintained throughout the testing process: 65°-85° temperature and 40%-60% relative humidity.

This test method will provide you with valuable information about how much moisture is emitting from the surface of the concrete.
ASTM F710 - pH Testing: Standard Practice for Preparing Concrete Floors to Receive Resilient Flooring. This test method measures the concentration of hydrogen ions within an aqueous solution. Both high concentrations (acidic) and low concentrations (alkaline) are known to negatively affect flooring and adhesives.
